-cont'd(2) - ...and someone in somebody's A&R department...pure luck is the reason for your coonery! Yes, coonery!

-Can we PLEASE get hip hop back to the basics...with real issues. How bout we rally some artists together for a stop the violence rally?

-We gotta stop our young people (my generation included) to stop killing eachother...it makes no sense.

-You know the young "thugs" out here? The main reason they say they joined a gang was because they need family, someone to look out for them.

-What happened to "It takes a village" we have to own up to our responsibility to those younger than us...they need guidance.

-I'm not tryna blame Gucci mane...but he's certainly not helping..neither are these other artists out, by glorifying the violence..

-Hypocrisy example: Rap "artist" whose message is drugs, money, and the defamation of women (of all races), and you have a YOUTH "foundation"

-Um we appreciate your community outreach, but why not give the shorties something better to listen to..day long programs only last for 24.

-I have a challenge for all "artists" who whine about changing our community...I challenge you to change your message!

-If you're an artist...should be no problem...What are you? Are you an artist or somebody's black face shuck n jiver, riddle me that blackman.

If You're Feeling Froggy Then... "Jump-Off"?

There have been a couple of occasions where I'll start talking to a dude, we'll really start to feel each other and make plans to meet again. Exciting! The possibility of SOMETHING NEW, right? Hell no.

Why, you ask? Well....(chuckles to self) these fools are already involved! Oh, no! Don't think that's the kicker...they LIVE with shorty-girl! I don't know if it's just me, but that's usually a bit of information that's included with regular conversations....usually.

Where'd the decency go?

AND what EXACTLY am I supposed to do with this new information?! Hmm, be chill, let it roll because, "I'm bout to leave her." So, you want me to stick around and fool around until you do?

Come on! Stop lying...Let's be for real here, ok? At first meeting, here come the compliments, pretty, classy, blah blah blah. If that's how you felt about me, how'd you think I was going to react?

A real woman knows that if there is a relationship to be had, the only women she should come second to are those related to you, BY BLOOD, understand? I've said this before, I can't speak for any other woman besides myself.

And MY-self is saying that I'm greedy, I don't like to share... So, NO we can't chill, kick it, or whatever else. Don't get mad, my thinking leads me to believe that IF we were to start something, you'd do the same thing to me (see Ginuwine - What's So Different?).

You just proved to me that you don't honor or RESPECT your current situation, why would you honor, let alone RESPECT "ours?" Relationships usually end with/because of the problems they began with. So if you begin with being dishonest, then....

Now, there are women out there who will let stuff like this go, and be cool with it. For the misleading, I'm sorry. But, you should never assume...besides do you really want that drama?

So guys (only those that apply), don't step into something new until both of your feet can be planted firmly.

Can't or WON'T?

So, today I was asked to do something that I hadn't done since the age of 6, model. I know right, very exciting! The trial pics would be taken at a club, during a party, around a whole buncha people that I don't know. So naturally, I'm nervous as a hooker in church. I was told that I could bring friends with, for the party, but my aim is for moral support.

And the one person who I thought would be so excited for me and would be happy to come and show love, did just the opposite. I was given a pacifying excuse...she said she COULDN'T go because she COULDN'T be late for work because she'd be on the redline all night. I appreciate people have to go to work, but #1 you being late is about you WAKING UP. #2 you hate your job, why you care all of a sudden?

The party/shoot is on Thursday night, again I appreciate that people have to go to work in the morning. But what I find funny is that when SHE was doing promoting, I damn sure showed my ass on a Thursday night to support her...where's the reciprocation?

It's really not about what you can and can't do...it's about (always about) what you will and won't do. Period.

Things that make you go, hmmm.

Girls CAN actually want sex...just as much, if not more.

To piggy-back off of Dommie B...women do think about sex often...I think that we just have a lil more control over our needs. Some men (that I've come across) would rather stick it in anything to get relief...fool blue balls is OK, it means you think with your BIG head. And if you won't please yourself, how can you expect anyone else to? Not fair. ;-P

Although I can't speak for every female, I can speak for myself...

For those who know me well, know that I have a lot of brain farts...


Brain farts are random thoughts and questions that pop up in your head, unprovoked. These thoughts and questions can be on any topic.

Men + Women = Friends?

The title of this post is derived from a current situation...

I have a male friend, who I have no sexual feelings for, at all. We chill, laugh, smoke and all that fun stuff. We don't really talk on the phone like that, but we will text one another to make plans to kick it.

Now, when I say chill...that's what I mean. He'll drink, I'll smoke, we'll eat some food, play video games and he'll probably crash on the couch if he doesn't go home...I'll sleep in my bed. ALONE!

He just recently, in our occasional texts, has started calling me 'sexy lady.' While the compliment is appreciated, I know that it was used to let certain feelings be known...without actually expressing them. Next, I was asked to come to his crib...now ladies, this text came at 10:30pm...y'all know what's up. And fellas please don't front, y'all peep.

Bring on the awkward-ness, right? This is suppose to be my homie. I don't wanna have that weird ass conversation, but it needs to happen lest he feel like I'm leading him on and I lose a friend...

Fellas, please don't think that I'm being biased. I DO understand that a lot of times women ignore the initial 'agreement'...feelings get caught like a cold and the setup fizzles out or ends with a quickness because now "it's gotten weird."

Why do these lines get constantly crossed on both sides?

I feel that more often than not, man/woman friendships start from a failed relationship attempt. In this scenario, mixed feelings are understandable if 'ground rules' are not initially set up for the two of you. If there WAS an agreement, be it friends with benefits or just friends, it needs to be honored. If feelings are developed...people try to NICELY, SMOOTHLY explain yourself in a non-pressure, 'just lettin' it be known' kind of way. Leaving both parties with open options.
